How To Get Your Book Collection To Grow

Hey guys! I'm here to show you how to get great books for a great price! Lets all admit, as much as we love our large bookstores, they can be a bit pricey. These tips led me to have a large amount of books without spending a large amount of money.
Step 1: Go to your local GoodWill or thrift shop! The books might not be in excellent condition but you can find some really great books there.

Step 2: Shop on Amazon! It was actually hard for me to shop on Amazon because I loved actually going to the bookstore and wandering around in the aisles but Amazon is much much cheaper.

Step 3: Go to a Walmart or Target! They might not have very many books but the one's that they do, they can be pretty cheap, sometimes up to 50% off!

Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children Review (Spoiler Free!)

I have just finished reading Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. May I just say, wow! I was incredibly impressed with this book. I have heard a lot of great things about this book but also some bad things. I went into this read thinking it was going to be an okay book, not the best, but okay. Boy was I wrong! This is probably the best young adult "creepy" novel I have ever read. I have read many YA books hoping to get a good scare out of them but I never really do. The chilling story line and creepy old photographs hooked me from the beginning and have me a good scare or two when reading it at night. This story follows a teenage boy named Jacob. A tragedy happens to him, sending him to a remote island where he finds an abandon orphanage. There, he finds out that the stories his grandfather used to tell him might not have been stories after all. This novel has great characters and a great plot. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves creepy tales and a good story. Even if you are not a horror fan, this is still a great book for you. It has a creepy aspect to it but that is not the focus of the story. There is no blood, no gore, barely any violence. This is a great story all around. Everyone should at least give this book a chance, it is a great novel and is definitely worth picking it up. Alright, that is it for this post. Reading Slumps

I am here today to talk about one of readers worst nightmares, reading slumps. For those of you who do not know what a reading slump is, it is a period of time where you feel like you just can not read. You want to read but there ends up being a large pile of books that just do not seem appealing to you. I have just recently have come out of the worst reading slump of my life, it lasted from somewhere around July up until last week. When you are in a reading slump but you want to get out of it, there are many tricks that can help. Tip 1: pick an easy book that you can blow through in a day or so, long books can tend to be hard to get through even when you are not in a reading slump so pick up a book that is not very challenging but still seems interesting. Tip 2: do not read a book that you have been wanting to read. It may seem challenging but trust me, it is worth it. Reading slumps can ruin a book that may be really good, but you just can not get into. Instead of picking a book that you are dying to read, grab a book that you maybe have not heard. It is better to not enjoy a book that was not on your "to be read" than to not enjoy one that was. 3rd and final tip: switch up the genre. If you tend to lean towards a certain genre, try and read some other genre other than that, you may be tired of it even without knowing it. I find that contemporary novels are great to bring you out of a slump because they are usually quite simple but have good story lines. Here are some books that I know have helped me and some friends get out of reading slumps: The Selection series by Kiera Cass, Eleanor and Park and Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan, and if none of these seem appealing to you, do not be afraid to go down to middle grade books, Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan and Harry Potter by J.K Rowling are great series that can surely get you out of books slumps.
