The Fifth Wave movie review! (spoiler free)

Hey everyone! As some of you may know, the movie for the book The Fifth Wave by Rick Yancey was recently made into a movie and I am here to do a reaction to Sasha Alsberg's "The Fifth Wave Movie Review" video. In case you do not know Sasha, she is a book tuber, which is a youtuber who does videos based on books! I will be leaving a link to her video at the end of this blog so go check it out! I want to first say that I fell in love with the book and I was very excited for the movie to come out. When I went to go see it on premier night, I was very happy to see that it ended up being one of my favorite book to movie adaptations that I have ever seen. I completely agree with Sasha on how it was a great movie and how the cast for each of the characters was also great. As Sasha said, this movie had a great way of showing how actual people would deal with hardship. Like she stated, after a death of someone close to a person, normal people would break down and would not be able to pick up their life like nothing happened a minute later which tends to happen in movies and even books. This movie portrayed pain in such a good way when the main character Cassie lost someone close to her. One thing I wish that the film makers would have touched more that Sasha did not talk about  was a group of characters that were a large part of the story in the book. They are quite an important part of the book and they did not bring them out as much in the movie. That was my only problem with this movie. Over all, I have to agree with Sasha on how this was an amazing book to movie adaptation. That is all for now, I will talk to you all later! Bye!

New Years And Book Challenges

Hello everyone! I'm back to talk about New Years and more specifically challenges and resolutions that you set for yourself for the new year. While some people make a resolutions to go to the gym more often or learn to save more money but us in the book community like to set a goal of a number of books they want to read through out the year. Some go with a goal or 20 while others go as extreme as to set there goal as 100 or 200 books! My goal for 2015 was to read 50 books through out the year and I passed that goal around August so now I'm adding on another 30 books as a total of 80 that I want to read this year in 2016. Things you can do to be able to achieve your goal easier is to dedicate some time of the day to read. Just take 20 minutes or so to just find a comfy place and read. If you don't always have time during the day, whenever you do have time, you can participate in reading sprints online which are a set time where you go against others to see how many pages you can read in a certain amount of time. These reading sprints can help increase the speed you read and can make you determined enough to get through a lot of pages in a novel. If you happen to have a couple days off from school or work, you can participate in reading challenges that people host online or that you can create yourself. Before the challenge starts, people start by picking books they really want to read then have them ready for when the challenge starts. Once it actually does start, you just pick up each book one by one as you finish the other. These challenges can last hours, days, and even weeks. These challenges, like the reading sprints, can make you more determined to get through a set of books that you have really been wanting to get to. So tell me, what is the amount of books you want to read in 2016? That's it for this blog! I'll see you all later!

How To Get Your Book Collection To Grow

Hey guys! I'm here to show you how to get great books for a great price! Lets all admit, as much as we love our large bookstores, they can be a bit pricey. These tips led me to have a large amount of books without spending a large amount of money.
Step 1: Go to your local GoodWill or thrift shop! The books might not be in excellent condition but you can find some really great books there.
Step 2: Shop on Amazon! It was actually hard for me to shop on Amazon because I loved actually going to the bookstore and wandering around in the aisles but Amazon is much much cheaper.
Step 3: Go to a Walmart or Target! They might not have very many books but the one's that they do, they can be pretty cheap, sometimes up to 50% off!
And those are my tips on finding cheap books! I hope you all enjoyed and I will see you all in the next post! Bye!

Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children Review (Spoiler Free!)

I have just finished reading Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. May I just say, wow! I was incredibly impressed with this book. I have heard a lot of great things about this book but also some bad things. I went into this read thinking it was going to be an okay book, not the best, but okay. Boy was I wrong! This is probably the best young adult "creepy" novel I have ever read. I have read many YA books hoping to get a good scare out of them but I never really do. The chilling story line and creepy old photographs hooked me from the beginning and have me a good scare or two when reading it at night. This story follows a teenage boy named Jacob. A tragedy happens to him, sending him to a remote island where he finds an abandon orphanage. There, he finds out that the stories his grandfather used to tell him might not have been stories after all. This novel has great characters and a great plot. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves creepy tales and a good story. Even if you are not a horror fan, this is still a great book for you. It has a creepy aspect to it but that is not the focus of the story. There is no blood, no gore, barely any violence. This is a great story all around. Everyone should at least give this book a chance, it is a great novel and is definitely worth picking it up. Alright, that is it for this post. I hope you go and pick this book up, it is definitely worth it. I will see you all in the next post! Bye!

Reading Slumps

I am here today to talk about one of readers worst nightmares, reading slumps. For those of you who do not know what a reading slump is, it is a period of time where you feel like you just can not read. You want to read but there ends up being a large pile of books that just do not seem appealing to you. I have just recently have come out of the worst reading slump of my life, it lasted from somewhere around July up until last week. When you are in a reading slump but you want to get out of it, there are many tricks that can help. Tip 1: pick an easy book that you can blow through in a day or so, long books can tend to be hard to get through even when you are not in a reading slump so pick up a book that is not very challenging but still seems interesting. Tip 2: do not read a book that you have been wanting to read. It may seem challenging but trust me, it is worth it. Reading slumps can ruin a book that may be really good, but you just can not get into. Instead of picking a book that you are dying to read, grab a book that you maybe have not heard. It is better to not enjoy a book that was not on your "to be read" than to not enjoy one that was. 3rd and final tip: switch up the genre. If you tend to lean towards a certain genre, try and read some other genre other than that, you may be tired of it even without knowing it. I find that contemporary novels are great to bring you out of a slump because they are usually quite simple but have good story lines. Here are some books that I know have helped me and some friends get out of reading slumps: The Selection series by Kiera Cass, Eleanor and Park and Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan, and if none of these seem appealing to you, do not be afraid to go down to middle grade books, Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan and Harry Potter by J.K Rowling are great series that can surely get you out of books slumps. I hope these tips help, I will see you all in the next post! Bye!

Hey guys! My name is Bianca, I'm 13 years old and I love books! I have loved books and reading ever since I was a little girl and I would always carry around a book in my hand, which I still do. Some of my personal favorites are The Murder Complex by Lindsay Cummings, Lord Of The Rings by J.R.R Tolkien, and The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey. Those are just a couple, I could name so many more though. My favorite genres of books are fantasy, sci fi, post apocalyptic, horror, and pretty much any young adult novel. I plan on blogging about books and do some book reviews, book to movie adaptation reviews, movie trailer reviews, pretty much anything that has to do with books. I might blog about some other things to such as T.V. shows or movies but I will be mainly focusing on books. I am blogging about this topic because I love reading books and I love expressing my opinion about them and being able to talk to people who enjoy them as much as I do. I would love if you guys recommended any books I should read or any books I should do a review on in the comments. I would also like to see which are your guys's favorite and least favorite books. So yah, I will try and post a couple times a week, thanks for reading this and I will see you all in the next post! Bye!
